Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia meets Dr. Arijit Das, State Civil Awardee for Scientific and Environmental Activities–2026

Responding to a warm invitation from the visiting union minister for communication and Doner Jyotiraditya Scindia, Tripura’s renowned chemical scientist and associate professor Dr Arijit Das this morning met him at the hotel Polo Tower, opposite to Old Raj Bhawan at 9-00 AM.Dr Das is also a state civil awardee this year.

During the interaction, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia formally introduced Dr. Das to the other dignitaries present and congratulated him for his outstanding contributions in the field of innovation in chemical education worldwide. The Hon’ble Minister particularly appreciated Dr. Das’s innovative teaching methodologies, which have been indexed by the world’s top five universities, namely, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA; Imperial College London, UK; Stanford University, USA; the University of Oxford, UK; and Harvard University, USA.

Expressing keen interest in this achievement, the Hon’ble Union Minister asked Dr. Das how he succeeded in getting his innovative teaching methodologies indexed by these globally renowned institutions. In response, Dr. Das presented the Hon’ble Minister with a catalogue of one of his innovative books, published by Cambridge, highlighting his research and pedagogical contributions.

Speaking to our correspondent, Dr. Das said, “It was a wonderful interaction with the Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia. We discussed my entire journey of innovation in chemical education, from Tripura to the world’s top five universities. The Hon’ble Minister congratulated me warmly, and the experience was truly marvellous.” Dr Das was had earlier been offered membership of the world-renowned American Chemical Society (ACS) that plays a key role in chemical research world-wide and is also authorised to make recommendations for the Nobel Prize for chemistry every year.
