Dhirendra Chandra Dutta Tripura Bibushan, Biswabandhu Sen, Biplab Goswami Tripura Bhushan, Dr Arijit Das to Receive Tripura State Civil Award

Renowned educationist late Dhirendra Chandra Dutta will be honoured with the Tripura Bibhushan Award, the highest civilian honour of the state, while eminent screenwriter Biplab Goswami and former Speaker Bishwabandhu Sen will receive the Tripura Bhushan Award for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields.

Former Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly Biswabandhu Sen and educationist Dhirlendra Chandra Dutta will be honoured posthumously. The awards will be handed over during the state-level Statehood Day celebration programme, scheduled to be held on Wednesday at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, Agartala. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha will inaugurate the programme and present the awards.

The Tripura government has officially announced the list of recipients of the State Citizen Awards and Statehood Day Awards for 2026, recognising individuals for their exceptional service and achievements in various fields.

Under the Sachin Dev Burman Memorial State Award, noted folk artist Surya Kumar Debbarma will be honoured. The Maharani Kanchan Prabha Devi Memorial State Award will be conferred upon Champa Das of Kamalghat, while the State Award for Science and Environment-related activities will go to Dr Arijit Das, Associate Professor and Head of Department at Bir Bikram Memorial College.

In the entrepreneurship category, the Best Entrepreneur in Handloom and Handicrafts/Beekeeping Award will be presented to Uttam Kumar Das of Teliamura, while the Best Entrepreneur in Industrial Enterprise Award will go to Deepak Dutta of Kanchanbari in Fatikroy. The Best Mobile App Award will be conferred upon Satyabrata Biswas of Panisagar, and the Best Cooperative Society Award will go to Tulamura PACS Limited of Gomati district.

The Best Startup Entrepreneur Award will be awarded to Pratapgarh-based Atkalp Biotechnology LLP of Nagichhara. The Best Entrepreneur in Agriculture and Horticulture Award will be presented to Dhanabati Jamatia of Simbukchak village in Salema, while Krishna Debbarma of Mohanbhog in Sepahijala will receive the Best Entrepreneur in Fisheries Award. The Best Entrepreneur in Animal Husbandry Award will go to Ratan Debnath of Bishramganj.

The awards aim to acknowledge excellence and inspire individuals across Tripura to contribute towards social, cultural, educational, scientific, and economic development of the state.
