Thefts on the rise, money and other items taken away by thieves from Bamutia-Tebaria high school, stolen items recovered by police in other case

There has been a spurt in incidents of theft in different parts of the state as the avenues for earning shrink and number of drug-addicts grow by the day. In the latest incident Rs 5000.00 in cash and a bell were taken stolen by thieves from the Bamutia-Tebaria high school under airport police station last night. Giving details sources from Bamutia said that the headmaster of the Bamutia-Tebaria high school Tapan Sarkar had reached the school in the morning to watch the functioning of the primary section . But to his horror the headmaster Tapan Sarkar discovered that the lock of the office room of the school had been broken and found inside that the entire set of furnitures of the school had been totally vandalised .

Realising that there had been a theft headmaster Tapan Sarkar conducted a search operation that Rs 5 thousand in cash, collected from students as subscription to ‘Saraswati Puja’ , had been taken away and the costly bell of the school had gone missing. Sensing every thing Tapan Sarkar informed the personnel of the airport police station and members of the school management committee (SMC) requesting them to come immediately. Both the parties arrived and a formal complaint was registered by police. However, the police inquiry officer assured the school authority that the stolen items will be recovered and the thieves arrested soon. It has also been decided by the school authority that a permanent security guard will be appointed in the school.

Apart from this, the personnel of East Agartala police station have recovered a stolen laptop computer , fan , sets of ‘Pachhra’ (tribal female dress) and gold ornaments stolen earlier by thieves from a residence in the Palace Compound area. The officer in charge of the East Agartala police station Subrata Debnath told media persons that along with recovery of stolen items the thief has also been arrested from Naynamura Laddu Chaumuhuni.

Meanwhile, the personnel of Bodhjung Nagar police station this morning arrested a listed thief identified as Rishav Debbarma . Giving details the officer in charge of Bodhjung Nagar police station Prashanta Kumar De said that a complaint had been received earlier from the head mistress of DC Para Hemanta smriti vidyalaya about a major theft in her school. After arrest of suspected thief Rishav Debbarma a search operation was conducted in his residence all the stolen items that included two laptop computers, two projectors, one desktop computer and two Tabs. All this had been stolen from the school.
