Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Lays Foundation Stone for Tripura Bhavan Extension Project in New Delhi

Chief Minister of Tripura, Professor (Dr) Manik Saha, on Monday laid the foundation stone for the Extension Project of Tripura Bhavan at Bir Tikendrajit Marg in New Delhi, marking a significant step towards strengthening the state’s infrastructure in the national capital.
The extension project will include the construction of six new rooms and two hall rooms at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.95 crore. The project aims to enhance accommodation and service facilities at Tripura Bhavan, which serves as an important link between the state and the Centre.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said the expansion would significantly strengthen the infrastructure of Tripura Bhavan and improve facilities for people from Tripura visiting New Delhi for medical treatment, higher education, cultural activities and business-related purposes. He emphasised that the upgraded facilities would provide greater comfort and support to visitors from the state.
The foundation stone laying and bhoomi pujan ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament Rajib Bhattacharjee, Deputy Speaker Ram Prasad Paul, Ministers Tinku Roy, Santana Chakma, Bikash Debbarma and Sudhangshu Das, among other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister described the occasion as the beginning of a historic and proud chapter for Tripura. He said the initiative to construct another modern and well-equipped Tripura Bhavan in the heart of New Delhi represents a major milestone in the state’s journey towards progress and development.
Dr Saha further stated that the new Tripura Bhavan would, in the future, emerge as an important hub for administrative coordination, cultural exchange and guest services of the state in Delhi. He expressed confidence that the project would further strengthen Tripura’s development, identity and prestige at the national level.
The extension of Tripura Bhavan is expected to play a key role in improving administrative efficiency and providing better support services for the people of Tripura in the national capital.
