Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), under the Rural Development Department of the Tripura government, has received the SKOCH Award 2025 for its flagship initiative, the Tripura Rural Intervention Project for Transformation and Inclusion (Project TRIPTI), officials said on Thursday.

The award was presented at the 105th SKOCH Summit held at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi under the theme ‘Governing Viksit Bharat’, they said.

The SKOCH Award is regarded as one of the country’s prominent independent honours recognising initiatives in governance and development, including areas such as social impact, financial inclusion and technology-led interventions. The award focuses on measurable outcomes, impact on beneficiaries and adoption of best practices for inclusive growth.

Officials said TRLM had nominated Project TRIPTI for the 2025 awards. The project is being implemented under the Innovation Fund of the Ministry of Rural Development in select blocks of two districts — Ambassa and Ganganagar blocks in Dhalai district and Dasda block in North Tripura district.

According to officials, the project currently covers nearly 4,000 of the poorest and most vulnerable rural households through a multi-sectoral ‘Graduation Approach’. The initiative integrates income generation, livelihood development, financial inclusion, social security, nutrition support and life skills, while ensuring convergence with various government departments.

The project places special emphasis on remote and marginalised communities with limited access to development programmes. Through sustained household-level support, it aims to improve livelihoods, access to entitlements, nutrition, health and overall socio-economic resilience, officials added.
