Birajit Sinha strongly condemns group clash and violence in Fatikroy , demands drastic action against perpetrators

Former PCC president and six-time Congress MLA from Kailasahar Birajit Sinha has strongly condemned the violence and clash between two groups in Shimultoli area this morning over an alleged incident of attempted extortion and demanded drastic action against the perpetrators. Speaking to media persons he said that he had been informed of the ‘shameful incident’ shortly after it had happened and spoke to the DM and SP.

“They told me that things are under control and tight security measures have been taken besides suspending internet ; may be this is true but the perpetrators should be strongly proceeded against; after this government came to power several such incidents have happened with attacks on religious places but the government has failed miserably to stop such condemnable incidents; I demand drastic action against the culprits; the government must take responsibility and take appropriate action” said Birajit.

He also held the minister Sudhangshu Das who represents Fatikroy in the state assembly responsible for what happened today. “He is possibly the only minister in India who makes comments with communal overtones in his social media posts and he himself has been giving continuous communal provocations; I urge upon the chief minister to sack Sudhangshu Das from his ministry immediately to prevent further strain on this state’s amity and harmony” said Birajit.
