Supreme Court to Hear Crucial Tripura’s Reservation in Promotion Case on January 21, General Category Employees Appeal for Support

A highly significant and sensitive case concerning reservation in promotion in government jobs will come up for hearing before the Hon’ble Chief Justice’s Bench of the Supreme Court of India on January 21, 2026 (Wednesday).

The outcome of this case is expected to have far reaching implications for the future of employees belonging to the General Category, as well as for the educational and employment prospects of future generations. The matter has drawn nationwide attention, as it directly impacts service conditions, career progression, and merit based advancement in public employment.

Representing the Tripura’s General Category employees in this crucial legal battle will be senior advocate Mrs. Kiran Suri and other eminent counsels. Given the stature of the case and the involvement of senior legal experts, a substantial amount of financial expenditure is required to effectively pursue the matter before the apex court.

In this context, a humble appeal has been made by General Category officers and employees welfare association to all General Category employees, officers, and well-wishers to extend financial support through voluntary donations.
