In a fresh development following the resumption of BJP mandal office construction in Simna under heavy central paramilitary security, the area witnessed violent clashes on yesterday night, further escalating political tension. Two BJP workers were seriously injured in an alleged attack by miscreants associated with Tipra Motha, triggering widespread panic and unrest in the locality.

According to information available, the incident took place yesterday night around 9 pm at Hejamara, close to the site where the BJP party office construction work was underway. A group of assailants reportedly launched a sudden attack using sticks and batons, targeting BJP workers present in the area. Two party workers, identified as Hiron Debbarma and Dukhi Debbarma, sustained severe head injuries during the assault and were left bleeding profusely on the ground.

Police from Sidhai Police Station rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information and brought the situation under control. The injured were rescued and shifted to GB Hospital for treatment, where doctors confirmed that both had suffered serious injuries.

This incident comes days after BJP formally restarted the construction of its Simna mandal office under the protection of central armed police forces, following repeated objections and earlier attacks allegedly by Tipra Motha supporters. The BJP had claimed that its supporters were targeted multiple times in the area, forcing them to suspend construction work earlier due to security concerns.

The latest violence has further aggravated the already tense atmosphere in Simna and adjoining areas. Police surveillance has been intensified, and additional forces have been deployed to prevent any further escalation. Senior police officials stated that the situation is being closely monitored and an investigation has been initiated to identify and take action against those involved in the attack.

The incident has once again highlighted the sharp political confrontation in the region, particularly in the backdrop of organizational expansion by the BJP and the approaching ADC elections, with Simna remaining a sensitive and volatile zone.
