Nine-year-old boy killed in vehicle accident in Teliamura

The incident occurred at Biladhan Reang Para under the Mungiakami police station area in the Atharamura region. The deceased child was identified as Jansing Reang, son of Drau Kumar Reang. According to police, the Bolero vehicle struck the child, killing him on the spot.

The vehicle involved in the accident bears registration number TR04B 1877. The driver, identified as Sanjit Debbarma, 34, son of Bikash Debbarma and a resident of Lalchhari (Hidhoy Para) under Ambassa police station, was detained by Mungiakami police along with the vehicle.

Following the accident, tension prevailed in the locality, prompting police intervention. The situation was later brought under control, officials said.

Fire and emergency service personnel reached the spot and recovered the body. The deceased was sent to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police have initiated legal proceedings in connection with the incident and further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident, officials added.
