Prabashi Tripurabashi Summit 2025–26 to Begin in Agartala This Evening, State to Showcase Vision for IT, Education, Healthcare and Tourism

Agartala is set to witness a strong convergence of policy, diaspora engagement and development thinking with the commencement of the Prabashi Tripurabashi Summit 2025–26 at Polo Towers Hotel this evening. The day-long summit, structured with a detailed minute-to-minute programme, is expected to bring together senior policymakers, eminent Prabashi Tripurabashis, academicians, entrepreneurs and domain experts to deliberate on Tripura’s future growth trajectory.

The summit will open in the evening with registration, networking and an ice-breaking session, setting the tone for meaningful interaction between stakeholders from Tripura and those working outside the state. The inaugural session, themed 'Connecting Hearts & Shaping Futures', will be graced by Manik Saha, Chief Minister of Tripura, as the Chief Guest. His address is expected to underline the importance of emotional bonds with the Prabashi community and their role in transforming Tripura through knowledge, investment and mentorship.

The inaugural session will also feature participation by distinguished Prabashi Tripurabashis from diverse sectors including industry, technology and academia, who will share their experiences and commitment to contributing to Tripura’s progress.

A moment of solemn reflection will follow, with the gathering observing a minute’s silence in memory of Late Biswabandhu Sen, former Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly.

The post–tea break sessions will shift focus to thematic deliberations. Thematic Session One on IT, Startups and Skilling in Tripura will be chaired by Pranajit Singha Roy, Minister for IT, Finance and Planning & Coordination. Senior state officials, technocrats and industry experts will discuss digital infrastructure, startup ecosystems, skill development and the scope for collaboration between the government and the Prabashi community. The session will also feature perspectives from scientists, corporate leaders and professionals associated with global institutions, highlighting pathways for Tripura’s integration into the national and global digital economy.

Parallel breakout discussions will enable deeper engagement on IT, startups and skilling, encouraging interactive exchanges and actionable suggestions.

Later in the evening, Thematic Session Two will focus on Education, Healthcare and Tourism, chaired by Sushanta Chowdhury, Minister for Tourism, Transport, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. Senior officials from education, health, tourism and allied departments will join academicians, healthcare professionals, hospitality leaders and creative industry representatives to explore reforms, capacity building and investment opportunities in these critical sectors.

The session will also highlight the need for quality education, robust healthcare delivery and sustainable tourism, with particular emphasis on leveraging the expertise of Prabashi Tripurabashis working in premier institutions across India and abroad. Breakout discussions on education, healthcare and tourism are expected to further enrich the dialogue, paving the way for sector-specific recommendations.

The summit will conclude with final reflections and a formal closure, bringing together distinguished dignitaries and officials.
