37 kgs of ‘Ganja’ recovered from Jungle near Teliamura town

Despite the ongoing operations by police in different parts of the state the ‘’Ganja’ (cannabis) peddlers manage to find places to stock their contraband packets in new areas. This thing has come to light from the recovery of a big stock of ‘Ganja’ from a jungle near the Teliamura subdivision. Sources from Teliamura said that, acting on a tip-off , a police team this morning raided the nearby jungle area close to Dashupara village and found a stock of 37 kgs of ‘Ganja’ stocked in as many packets , priced at Rs 4 lakhs in the black market. The stock was recovered to the Teliamura police station.
Speaking to media-persons the officer in charge of Teliamura police station Jayanta De said that anti-drug and anti-‘Ganja’operations have been continuing and this will continue . He said that ‘Ganja’ cultivation and peddling has considerably come down in Teliamura police station area because of police operations on a regular basis.
