Newspaper distributor crushed to death by truck in Kalyanpur area

In a tragic road mishap a poor newspaper distributor was crushed to death by a heavy truck in Kalyanpur police station area near the main market this morning. Giving details police sources said that the newspaper hawker Ajay Acharjee (38) had completed his distribution of newspapers among subscribers in the morning. Having returned home in time he had gone to the local ration shop to draw his due ration goods . While he was returning home on foot Ajay Acharjee but around 10-30 AM when he was walking along the Teliamura-Khowai road to reach his nearby home close to the market speeding heavy truck from the direction of Khowai slightly strayed and pushed him down on the road before running over him. The truck sped away while Ajay Acharjee lay dead on the spot in a pool of blood.

The police have registered a case of accidental death . But the local people including friends and acquaintances expressed their shock and grief over the death of Ajay Acharjee in such a ghastly manner.
