Despite the cross-border furore triggered by the lynching of a Hindu factory worker Dipu Chandra Das (30) , preceded by the death of anti-India ‘Inquilab Manch’ leader Sharif Osman Hadi in Dhaka , Bangladesh’s reversion to the medieval lawlessness now seems irreversible as the minority Hindus continue to be victimised by ‘Momin’ violence and perfidy with impunity. Hardly had the tears over the brutal lynching to death and torching of Dipu Chandra Das dried when seven Hindu households had been set afire by a murderous ‘Momin’ gang in Rauchan area under Chittagong district of Bangladesh after shutting up the door. The family members managed to break out of their houses after flames of the fire had started singing them. Even though , facing international pressure, the Chief Advisor of the interim government and fundamentalist-puppet Md Yunus feebly condemned the lynching of Dipu Chandra Das, no official reaction has so far come to the chain of other incidents of Hindu hounding.
In the latest incident a Hindu businessman named Pintu Akand (35) who ran a showroom of shoes and sandals in Dupachian area under Bagura district had been kidnapped on last Monday night after he had closed down his showroom by a gang of ‘Momins’ and taken on a micro-bus to Kumarpara area under Amdighi subdistict and strangled to death. His lifeless body was recovered on last Tuesday morning by police after being informed of Pintu’s disappearance by his family. The officer in charge of Dupahian police station Afzal Hossain said that the scene of abduction had been recorded in the CCTV footage collected from the area and the fugitive kidnappers and killers would be arrested soon. The micro-bus used for the kidnapping has already been seized , added Afzal Hossain.
In a separate incident of deliberate subversion designed to drive out Hindus out of the country and capture their landed properties, another gang of ‘Momin’ dacoits thriving on the officially sponsored anarchy all over the Bangladeshi hellscape, burnt to ashes high-quality ripe paddy over 9 acres of land owned by Mahendra Chandra Roy and his nephew Palash Chandra Roy in Mahuga village under Sujalpur union in Dinajpur district on Tuesday night. A complaint was filed to police but the families of the affected farmers Mahendra Chandra Roy and Palash Chandra Roy but , as always , there will be no action as the complaint did not contain any name .
Sources from across the border said that the avaricious and bestial communal elements in Bangladesh have been working on a plan to displace the Hindus so that their left-over land and properties can be captured like hanging fruits. “This has been as a long-term plan of the communal and fundamentalist barbarians in Bangladesh ; now they have got a golden opportunity as an indulgent government is now in power” sources added.
