Khelo Tripura Para Games 2025 Inaugurated at Agartala, CM Dr Manik Saha Emphasises Power of Inspiration

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the two-day-long Khelo Tripura Para Games – 2025 was formally inaugurated yesterday at the state sports complex at Badharghat, Agartala. The event was inaugurated by Chief Minister Professor (Dr) Manik Saha, marking an important step towards promoting inclusive sports in Tripura.
The para games are being jointly organised by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education. Minister Tinku Roy attended the inaugural programme and extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all participating athletes, appreciating their determination and sporting spirit.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha highlighted the transformative power of inspiration in strengthening the mental resilience of persons with disabilities. He said that organising diverse sports activities for divyangjan plays a crucial role in boosting their self-confidence and mental strength. According to the Chief Minister, para games act as a powerful and positive platform to encourage participation, empowerment, and social inclusion of specially-abled persons.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while participating in the inaugural ceremony of the ‘Khelo Tripura Para Games–2025’ held at the Dasharath Deb State Sports Complex in Agartala. He congratulated all the athletes taking part in the sporting event and expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to inspire divyang athletes to achieve excellence in sports and life.
Dr Manik Saha also conveyed his best wishes for the overall success of the para games, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to creating equal opportunities and a supportive environment for persons with disabilities across Tripura.
