Minister Ratan Lal Nath Emerges as Key Link Between Former CM Biplab Deb and CM Dr Manik Saha in Tripura BJP

Mohanpur became the centre of political attention on Sunday as former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and incumbent Chief Minister Professor Dr Manik Saha shared the same platform at the BJP’s Prishtha (Page) Pramukh Conference, highlighting renewed camaraderie and coordination within the party. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha publicly acknowledged that the growing warmth and reconnect between the former and present leadership has been skilfully facilitated by senior minister Ratan Lal Nath.

Former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb attended the Prishtha (Page) Pramukh Conference in Mohanpur, following his presence at the Unity Promo Fest programme held a day earlier. Interestingly, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha revealed during his address that he was not aware in advance that Biplab Deb would be attending either of the two programmes. He shared this candidly while speaking from the dais in Mohanpur.

Referring to this development, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha remarked that it was precisely for such political acumen and organisational foresight that he often refers to Ratan Lal Nath as the 'Chanakya of Tripura politics'. He credited Nath for playing a pivotal role in strengthening internal coordination and reinforcing unity between senior leaders of the party.

Earlier, while addressing the same gathering, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also described Ratan Lal Nath as the 'Chanakya of Tripura politics' referring Central Home Minister Amit Shah who also once commented like this, underlining his strategic importance within the BJP’s state leadership. The rare convergence of opinion from both the former and current Chief Ministers highlighted Nath’s stature as a trusted strategist and consensus-builder.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha further stated that Ratan Lal Nath has been instrumental in consolidating the relationship between the party’s past and present leadership, ensuring continuity, stability and collective focus within the organisation. He emphasised that such internal harmony is essential for strengthening the BJP’s organisational base and for achieving future electoral successes.

The Mohanpur Prishtha Pramukhs conference, marked by the joint presence of senior leaders and grassroots workers, sent a strong message of unity and organisational cohesion within the Tripura BJP, reinforcing confidence among party workers ahead of upcoming electoral challenges.
