Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today issued a stern warning that strict legal action will soon be taken against those creating unrest in the name of the 'Thansa'. Speaking at a joining programme at SutarMura Bazar under Charilam Mandal in Sepahijala district, the Chief Minister said that several individuals who claim to be TIPRA Motha supporters and are causing trouble in different places are actually CPIM-backed elements.

Dr. Saha asserted that the BJP government does not believe in muscle-powerbased politics, nor will it allow TIPRA Motha or any other group to engage in such activities. He made it clear that the administration is preparing to take forceful and decisive legal measures against anyone trying to misuse political movements to intimidate people.

The statement comes days after TIPRA Motha supporters allegedly disrupted a BJP meeting at SutarMura Bazar. In a show of strength, BJP organised a protest meeting at the same location today in the presence of the Chief Minister.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha highlighted the significant development achieved by Tripura’s tribal communities since the BJP came to power. He assured that even greater tribal development initiatives are on the way.

Reacting to TIPRA Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore Debbarma’s recent threat that BJP would not be allowed to enter ADC areas, the Chief Minister firmly stated that Tripura belongs to everyone. He added that every political party has the democratic right to hold meetings, conduct programmes, and carry out political activities anywhere in the state. “The ADC is not anyone’s personal property,” Dr. Saha remarked, emphasizing that no force or organisation can restrict democratic practices in Tripura.

The Chief Minister’s message underscored the government’s commitment to safeguarding law, order, and democracy in the state while ensuring political activities remain peaceful and violence-free.
