NEC plenary starts today, union home minister Amit Shah arriving at 4-30 in the afternoon, Doner minister Scindia landing at 6-00 PM

The union home minister Amit Shah is arriving for the 72nd plenary of the North Eastern Council (NEC) at Agartala at 4-30 in the afternoon to be cordially received at the airport by the chief minister Dr Manik Saha , his cabinet colleagues and a host of high officials . This will be followed by the arrival of the union minister for Doner Jyotiraditya Scindia at 6-00 in the evening when he will speak to the media persons outside the airport.
Official sources said that the NEC plenary will discuss and thrash out a host of important issues concerned with the development of northeast in the coming days besides putting to scrutiny the action taken report on decisions taken in the previous 71st plenary session. There will also be a discussion session among chief secretaries of northeastern states over the works accomplished and a road map for the future. There will also be a five-point presentation of framework for the development of northeast, to be followed by discussion on recent initiatives by the ministry of Doner, another discussion and presentation on the proposed northeast investors summit, Ashtalaxmi Mahotsav .
There will also be a bankers conclave on the sidelines of the NEC plenary. But the most important points to come up for discussion will be related to saturation of basic amenities. There will be presentations on 4G saturation project (state dependencies), financial inclusion (opening of bank branches), unelectrified villages, road connectivity by concerned ministries like Telecom , Power etc, presentation on ‘PM electric drive revolution in innovative vehicle enhancement scheme by ministry of heavy industries etc.
The gist of the outcome, takeaways of these presentations/deliberations will be presented in the plenary on December 21 by the report to be presented by the secretary. There will also be a pre-event interaction/ cultural programme followed by dinner in the evening before the plenary.
