A pall of grief enveloped the state on Monday morning as the mortal remains of Tripura’s young intern doctor Saptarshi Das, who died tragically in a road accident outside the state, were brought back to Agartala. A few days ago, Saptarshi, along with three of his friends, lost his life in a devastating car accident. Due to irregular Indigo flight operations, his body had to be transported to Agartala by ambulance today.

Saptarshi Das, a brilliant MBBS student and a resident of Ramnagar No. 1 Road, Agartala, passed away prematurely in a horrific accident that took place recently on the Delhi–Lucknow highway. The incident shocked the state, cutting short the life and aspirations of the promising young doctor.

As the body reached his residence today, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha paid his last respects and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. The emotional scene at the residence reflected the profound loss felt across the state’s medical and academic fraternity.

Thousands of people joined the final journey of Saptarshi, offering their respects to the departed soul. At the cremation ground, the tearful farewell by Saptarshi’s parents moved many to tears. Along with the Chief Minister, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumder, MLA Sudip Roy Barman, and numerous other dignitaries and citizens were present to bid a final farewell.
