Annual exam in government schools preponed to February next year

In a bizarre decision the education department of the state government is reported to have directed all the schools to prepone their annual exam to February next year even though the academic year is scheduled to end on March 31. As per the new preponed schedule the annual exam is set to begin on February 9 and end on February 19. The directive has plunged most of the schools in the state in a serious problem because of shorter period of time available for completing the syllabus .

Sources at the school level said that in most of the schools even the second unit exam has not yet begun and in this situation conducting the annual exam from February 9 will pose an insurmountable problem in completing the syllabus. “The annual exam is generally held at the end of February and completed within the first part of March ; but his time the normal schedule has been preponed and it will cause lot of problems for students” said the headmaster of a HS school, refusing to be quoted. No official of the education department was available for response to queries on the preponement of the schedule of exam.
