Unrestrained Violence in Dharmanagar: CPM Leaders, Including Amitabh Dutta, Seriously Injured in BJP Attack

Dharmanagar witnessed a shocking wave of violence as tension erupted across the town following a brutal attack on a CPI(M) rally today. According to local sources, BJP supporters allegedly stormed into a peaceful CPI(M) procession from behind, triggering chaos and leaving several party leaders seriously injured.

Among the injured are senior CPI(M) leader and former MLA Amitabh Dutta, who was seen in a bloodied condition, as well as Abhijit De and Ratan Roy, along with several other party workers. Eyewitnesses reported that BJP supporters, carrying party flags, unleashed a rampage on the main road, creating an atmosphere of fear and panic.

Following the assault on the rally, miscreants also allegedly vandalized the District Congress Office, further intensifying the turmoil. Local residents described the situation as terrifying as unrest spread throughout the town.

What has sparked widespread criticism is the alleged inactivity of the police. While the violence unfolded right in front of them, officers on duty were accused of remaining mere spectators instead of intervening to control the situation or protect the injured.

Dharmanagar currently remains on edge as political tension escalates, and citizens demand immediate action to restore order and hold the attackers accountable. Authorities are yet to officially comment on the incident.
