The CPI (M) state secretary and politburo member Jiten Chowdhury has slammed the BJP-ruled state government for what he alleged as ‘total failure on all fronts’ as also for inner fighting . “The ministers and leaders of the ruling party are pursuing their personal agenda and trying to make money by all means ; they have no time to think of the state and its people ; I am afraid this government will not last its full term and collapse beneath the weight of its own contradictions before 2028 when the next assembly election is due” said Jten. He was speaking to media persons in the state CPI (M) party office.

Jiten said that a condition of all round lawlessness has descended on the state and even a section of ruling party leaders are not feeling safe. “The younger brother of a former union minister of state has been caught for forging documents like ‘Aadhar’ card, PRC etc as also for domestic violence while there are serious allegations against a number of incumbent ministers “ said Jiten . He flayed the government for not fulfilling thousands of government posts lying vacant for many years and said that all the schools and colleges in the state are short of teachers and heads of institutions but there is no attempt to fill them up.

He also spoke of the critical conditions faced by the rural and hilly masses saying an all-round crisis has gripped the rural and hilly areas. “The power supply and health services are not there; there are schools and colleges but no teachers and heads of institutions; ;people suffer from even crisis of drinking water but the ministers have no time to think over these matter and resolving them; this state is being totally destroyed by the BJP and its government” said Jiten. He also pointed out how a woman MLA of BJP openly exposed the infighting in the party from the dais of a programme and said that the ruling party itself is collapsing .

He also castigated the ruling party and its allies for over-enthusiasm over the SIR in stead of thinking of the urgent problems of the state. “The SIR will happen as and when the election commission will decide but the self-appointed guardians of tribal interest as well as the ruling party are making too much of it to hide their own failures; the village committee elections in ADC were due in 2021 but even though more than four years have passed the state government is sitting on the issue and dithering ; this totally undemocratic and harmful to the interests of the tribal people at the grassroot level” said Jiten. He also asserted that this government is unlikely to last its full term and may fall before the end of its scheduled term.
