Senior party leader and sitting Congress MLA Sudip Roybarman has slammed the BJP-led state government for false and unfulfilled promises on jobs and failure to meet the legitimate demands of employees and pensioners. He was interacting with the media in Congress Bhawan yesterday and addressed the issue.
“There are 52 thousand vacancies in different wings of the state administration but there is no attempt to fulfil them by giving jobs even though thousands of educated youths are leaving the state for poor-paid jobs in other states; before the 2018 assembly election one ‘missed call Baba had assured the youths of the state that government jobs would be available upon only a missed call ; where is that promise now and why are youths moving from door to door for jobs” asked Sudip. He said that the ministers of the state have been announcing decisions on recruitment but in reality very few official notifications are being issued for recruitment. “ There is no notification for jobs that had been announced much earlier and what is most painful is that qualified engineers are being forced to apply for jobs of substaff only to earn something” said Sudip.
He also flagged the ‘pitiable conditions’ in all the educational institutions in the state from pre-primary to collge and shortage of teachers and non-teaching staff everywhere. “All the schools and colleges in the state reeling under acute shortage of teachers , headmasters and head mistresses and principals and vice principals but the state government does not seem to care at all ; this government is pushing the state back to 19th century and future of the entire populace is dark” said Sudip. He demanded a massive recruitment drive to ease the burden on administration as well as to provide viable means of livelihood to people, specially to youths.
Besides, Sudip also lashed out at the government for failure to fulfill the legitimate demands of employees and pensioners and for making their lives difficult. “As as high 22% of DA and DR are still dues and the deadline for sanction of funds by the incumbent 16th finance commission is set to expire on November 30 ; unless the dues are cleared by that date this 22% will be lost for ever ; what is more worrisome is that the BJP government has led the state into a debt trap through its corruption and squandering of resources through corruption” said Sudip. He asserted that all these issues will snowball into a major crisis soon and people will rise in revolt and called upon the people , specially the youths to come out in protest against what he called the ‘perfidies of the BJP government’.
