SALIL CHOWDHURY SWARNANJALI commemorates maestro Salil Chowdhury in centenary year by releasing gold coin

Jewellers, in association with Anandapur Salil Chowdhury Birth Centenary Society, released an exclusive gold coin - on 13th November - in commemoration of the legendary maestro's birth centenary year.Salil Chowdhury is a name that is worth its weight in gold.And the 'Swarnanjali' gold coin - a glowing tribute that reflects all the shine in the legendary maestro and all the magic about his music - is a valuable souvenir that is symbolic of all the caratage in him. The programme of the day began with an audio-visual wherein contemporaries of Salil Chowdhury - singers, musicians, lyricists and film-makers from Dwijen Mukherjee to Gulzar - who knew him well and had worked very closely with him - spoke from their heart on their association with the all time great while star afficianados of the day - from Tanmoy Bose to Srijato - fondly recalled the legend's greatness.

Thereafter, Antara Chowdhury and Sanchari Chowdhury - Salil Chowdhury's daughter - along with Srikanta Acharya and Kalyan Sen Barat took over to reflect on all that Salil Chowdhury was really all about - breaking into meaningful songs in fond remembrance and symbolic tribute to the much loved music composer.Finally, the 'Salil Chowdhury Swarnanjali' Gold Coin was released by Antara Chowdhury, Sanchari Chowdhury, Srikanta Acharya and Kalyan Sen Barat - flanked by Arpita Saha and Rupak Saha, Directors of Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers"I am so happy to release the 'Salil Chowdhury Swarnanjali' gold coin because it is such a fitting tribute to my father on his birth centenary year", said Antara Chowdhury, adding,"And I take this opportunity to thank Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers for supporting all our commemorative projects and making this most appropriate presentation"
