The Tripura Tourism Promo Fest 2025, organised by Tripura Tourism, is progressing toward its grand finale scheduled for 12 December at Vivekananda Maidan, Agartala. Reliable sources indicate that Tripura Tourism’s brand ambassador, cricket icon Sourav Ganguly, is likely to visit Tripura on the day of the final programme. His presence is expected to significantly boost the event’s excitement and visibility. The main event will feature a live performance by popular Bollywood singer Jubin Nautiyal.
The Promo Fest has been designed as a multi-location cultural celebration across Tripura under the theme Unity Promo Fest 2025. Five major events are being held ahead of the grand finale:
Event-1 already been held from 8–9 November at Narikelkunja, featuring a performance by singer Albert Kabo Lepcha on 9 November.
Event-2 to be held from 15–16 November at Belonia, with playback singer Palak Muchhal performing on 16 November.
Event-3 to be Held from 19–20 November at Udaipur, featuring singer Papon on 20 November.
Event-4 to be Held from 28–29 November at Jampui Hills, with performances by Mary Dawngliana, Saiwanah, Rebecca, Lilac & Jacks, and a musical band performance on 29 November.
Event-5 Scheduled from 4–5 December at Neermahal, featuring singer Debojit Saha on 5 December.
However, alongside the festive mood, serious allegations of black-marketing of festival entry passes have created discontent among the public. In Belonia, hundreds of people reportedly waited in long queues from morning till evening but were unable to obtain passes. Locals have claimed that certain individuals collected passes in bulk and sold them illegally at excessively high prices, depriving genuine visitors of their opportunity to attend the programme.
Residents of Belonia are urging authorities to take prompt action, ensure fair distribution of passes, and prevent further exploitation of festival-goers. Tripura Tourism officials are expected to review the situation urgently as the state prepares for one of its biggest cultural festivals of the year.
