DDMA West Tripura Honours Disaster Management Heroes for Exceptional Service During August 2024 Floods

The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), West Tripura District, organized a felicitation programme to honour and recognize the dedicated volunteers, officers, officials, and staff who rendered outstanding service in the field of disaster management, particularly during the devastating floods of August 2024.

The ceremony, held yesterday at the Sonar tari State Guest House, acknowledged the tireless efforts of individuals and teams who played a crucial role in mitigating the disaster’s impact and assisting affected communities across the district.

Among those felicitated were members of the Ranirbazar Open Rover Crew, who were specially recognized for their remarkable performance in disaster operations under the Jirania Sub-Division. Their swift response, coordination with local authorities, and dedication during the critical flood situation were widely appreciated by the district administration.

Officials of DDMA highlighted the importance of community-based disaster preparedness and praised the commitment shown by volunteers in times of crisis. They emphasized that such recognition serves as an encouragement for others to actively participate in disaster risk reduction and emergency response initiatives.

The programme concluded with words of appreciation for all participants whose selfless service and teamwork significantly contributed to ensuring safety, relief, and rehabilitation during one of the most challenging times faced by West Tripura District in recent years.
