Chief Minister Inaugurates New Degree College and Girls’ Hostel at Kakraban, Announces Upcoming Colleges for Ambassa and Karbook

In a landmark development for higher education in south Tripura, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today inaugurated the new Kakraban General Degree College under Gomati district. The event marked a significant milestone in the state government’s ongoing mission to expand educational opportunities across Tripura.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Saha said, “Today is a day of immense joy for the people of Kakraban. The formal inauguration of this new Degree College is the result of our government’s relentless efforts to fulfill the long-cherished dream of higher education for the youth of this region.”

In a joyous and festive atmosphere, Dr. Saha also inaugurated a 50-seater Girls’ Hostel under the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) at Kakraban. He noted that the establishment of the new college and hostel would play a vital role in expanding educational facilities and shaping the future of the local youth.

During the event, the Chief Minister further announced that new degree college infrastructures will soon be established at Ambassa and Karbook, reinforcing the government’s commitment to equitable educational development across all districts of Tripura.

Dr. Saha remarked, “Tripura is gradually transforming into an emerging education hub. Today, students in our state have access to almost every field of study without needing to go outside.”

The inauguration of the Kakraban General Degree College and DIET Girls’ Hostel marks another important step toward the government’s vision of ensuring accessible, quality, and inclusive education in every corner of the state.
