Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha and Former CM Manik Sarkar Laud Tripurainfo Mega Quiz 2025, CM Calls to Take the Event to the National Level

The 2025 edition of Tripurainfo Mega Quiz, Tripura’s most popular and prestigious knowledge competition, was held yesterday at the Rabindra Bhavan Hall No. 1 in Agartala. The event marked a historic milestone, celebrating two decades of uninterrupted success since its inception in 2006.

Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha and former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar showered high praise on the Tripurainfo Mega Quiz for its outstanding contribution to the state’s educational and cultural landscape. Both leaders appreciated Tripurainfo and School of Science, along with the various government and private organizations that have consistently supported this long-standing knowledge initiative.

Dr. Manik Saha described the event as more than just a competition, It is a true festival of knowledge, he said. “This platform inspires our young generation to go beyond textbooks and engage in general knowledge and contemporary learning. For the past 20 years, Tripurainfo has been spreading the light of learning to every corner of the state, a matter of great pride for Tripura, he said.

The Chief Minister further assured that the state government would extend every possible support to elevate this event to the national level. Minister Tinku Roy, who was also present, noted that Tripurainfo Mega Quiz has already earned recognition across the country and suggested that the government consider formal collaboration with a relevant department to give it official status.

In his message, former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar hailed the competition for bringing together Tripura’s brightest young minds on a single platform. “Maintaining such a grand and educational initiative continuously for two decades is an extraordinary achievement,” he said, congratulating the entire Tripurainfo Mega Quiz team.

In his inaugural address, senior journalist and Tripurainfo Editor-in-Chief Shekhar Dutta said, “Tripurainfo Mega Quiz is not just an event, it is the pride of Tripura’s educated community — a living chapter of history. No other state in India organizes a quiz of such magnitude and consistency.”

The grand event saw the presence of a distinguished audience, including Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, Minister Tinku Roy, former Justices S.C. Das and U.B. Saha, State Secretary Kiran Gitte, IGP Ipa Munchak, Law Secretary Shankari Das, and former Law Secretary Datamohan Jamatia, among others.

This year’s quiz featured both School and Open categories, with over 200 participants competing across multiple rounds.

School Category Winners:

First Place: Angad Sen (Class VIII, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya) and Sayan Saha (Class VI, Umakanta English Medium School), Cash prize Rs. 20,000 and two trophies.

Second Place: Krishnashish Pal and Parag Dutta (Class IX, Pranabananda Vidyamandir), Rs. 10,000 and two trophies.

Third Place: Abhigna Majumdar and Saptarthya Roy (Class XI, Pranabananda Vidyamandir) Rs. 5,000 and two trophies.

Open Category Winners:

First Prize: Amlan Gupta and Souptik Chakraborty, R 30,000 and two trophies.

Second Prize: Arunesh Chakraborty and Tripan Pal zrs 20,000 and ro trophy.

Special Awards:

Best School, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan

Best College, 6 Women’s College

Best Audience, Souvik Majumdar

Additionally, more than ২০,০০০ Tungjatjeta attractive prizes were distributed among participants and audiences, including mobile phones, bicycles, smart TVs, computer sets, cash rewards, hotel stays at Polo Towers, and even round-trip air tickets between Agartala and Kolkata.

This year’s quiz masters were Abhijit Bhattacharjee (Principal, School of Science), Nandu Panikkar (Officer, State Planning Department), and Madhuja (Mahi) Debnath, the youngest quiz master, an eighth-grade student of Auxilium Girls’ School. The event was anchored by Subasish Kar, IT expert at ETDC, Government of India, and Swastati Majumdar, Doordarshan Agartala anchorsyoucanno.

Tripurainfo’s Founder and Editor Jayanta Debnath expressed heartfelt gratitude to all supporters, saying, “This 20-year journey of Tripurainfo Mega Quiz has been possible only because of the love of quiz enthusiasts of Tripura and the collective effort of our collaborators.” He thanked quiz masters Abhijit Bhattacharjee, Nandu Panikkar, Madhuja Debnath, anchors Subasish Kar and Swastati Majumdar, and all government and private partners for their dedicated contributions.

Supported by Tripurainfo, School of Science, several government departments, corporations, and numerous private sponsors, the 2025 Tripurainfo Mega Quiz once again stood as a symbol of knowledge, unity, and Tripura’s proud intellectual tradition.
