Faithfully toeing the line of fakery and hypocrisy of so-called party high command , the Tripura Congress which otherwise is trying to revamp and rejuvenate the party unit here today resorted to false and baseless accusations against the Election Commission of India (ECI) and arch rivals BJP on the cooked up issue of ‘Vote Chori’. How an entire party, still comprising many sensible leaders and activists , can succumb to the fake and manufactured narrative set by a muddle-headed dynast was on evidence today in the Congress Bhawan. The PCC president Asish Kumar Saha and longstanding MLA and veteran leader Sudip Roybarman who otherwise continue to be looked upon by partymen and general people as sensible leaders reiterated the fake narrative of ‘Vote Chori’ and collusive relationship of the ECI with the BJP. “Narendra Modi government is in power not by peoples votes but by vote theft” said Sudip , caring nothing for reaction of informed people . Asish who has always been restrained and decent in his political pronouncements stated that state Congress will submit a memorandum to the president of the country with signatures from at least 2 lakhs people of the state while the AICC and other state units will collect five crore signatures from all over the country for submission to the president in December this year.
However , the utterances made in the interaction with the media and the ugly flex put up on the issue in front of the Congress Bhawan have evoked a sharp reaction. “ I am in doubt whether Sudip and Asish themselves believe in the fake narrative set by their all-powerful dynastic leader; I would like to ask how the Congress won in Karnataka, Telengana , Himachal Pradesh and how they increased their tally in Loksabha elections last year from 52 to 99 ; more interesting is that fact that elections in all these states had been preceded by revision of electoral roll, as required by election law, and in Telengana as many as 22 lakh dead, shifted and duplicate voters had been dropped off the rolls but still Congress won a resounding victory” said a political observer. He also said that Congress’s plea against EVM has been rejected by the supreme court at least forty times and the recent fakery in Haryana has been caught red-handed by the ECI, Media and the Brazilian lady. “I do not blame the state leaders of Congress because they have to act under the instructions of the dynast sitting at the top but I do feel that such fake narratives and false accusations tarnish the image of India’s constitutional bodies and democratic institutions abroad, specially to motivated anti-India elements” said the observer. He urged upon all state Congress leaders to seriously study the Articles 324, 326 of the constitution and the entire Representation of Peoples Act-1951, specially Section 21.
