In a grand and colorful ceremony held at Hall No. 1 of Rabindra Centenary Bhavan, the Syandan Sharad Samman 2025 organized by Syandan Patrika and Syandan TV was successfully concluded yesterday. The event celebrated cultural excellence and social commitment, drawing a large audience and notable dignitaries.
The program began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp (Mangaldeep) by the Chief Guest, Chief Minister of Tripura, Professor Dr. Manik Saha. Among the distinguished guests present were Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Deepak Majumder, former Justice of the Tripura High Court S. C. Das, and renowned singer Rajib Das of the popular Bengali band Dohar, whose melodious performance captivated the audience.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha praised the progress of Syandan amidst numerous challenges, remarking, “With the political transformation in Tripura, the overall situation in the state has also changed. The number of Durga Pujas is increasing every year. This year, over 700 Pujas were organized in Agartala city alone, and more than 3,000 across the state. This growth reflects the improvement in law and order and the cultural advancement of our society.”
Recalling the past, the Chief Minister said, “There was a time when Durga Puja celebrations were shadowed by fear. Parents worried about their children even during immersion processions. Today, that fear has vanished. We are building a better and safer Tripura through social responsibility and collective effort.”
Dr. Saha deeply appreciated Syandan’s journey, saying, “Syandan has come a long way through many obstacles and struggles. I salute the dedication and determination of Syandan’s editor, Subal Kumar Dey, who started this remarkable journey from a small room with big dreams. His tireless efforts have made Syandan a household name in Tripura.”
He further urged everyone to work unitedly towards creating a Drug-Free and AIDS-Free Tripura, emphasizing the importance of community participation in social reform.
Speaking at the event, Syandan Patrika and Syandan TV’s founder-editor Subal Kumar Dey expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and the audience. He highlighted Syandan’s continuous effort to uphold social responsibility and serve the people through journalism and community initiatives.
The event concluded with cultural performances, where Dohar’s soulful songs added a memorable charm to the celebration, perfectly complementing the festive spirit of the Sharad season.
