CM Dr. Manik Saha Hails Weekly Sanskriti Haat as a Unique Cultural Bridge of Bengali Tradition and Tripura’s Heritage; Announces Rs. 50.25 Lakh Grant for Expansion

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has described the Weekly Sanskriti Haat as a remarkable initiative that beautifully blends the essence of Bengali’s cultural sphere with Tripura’s rich tradition and heritage. He termed it a unique example of social and cultural bonding that strengthens the state’s communal harmony through art, culture, and creativity.

The Chief Minister, accompanied by Minister Tinku Roy and several prominent cultural personalities of the capital, attended the grand celebration of the uninterrupted 100th edition of the event held today at Senpara, Nandan Nagar adjacent to Agartala city.

While addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha praised the consistent efforts of the organizers and expressed his personal delight, saying, Every moment today has been an emotional experience for me. This initiative not only provides entertainment but also plays a vital role in promoting local socio-economic development.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to support grassroots cultural movements, the Chief Minister announced that the state government, through the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), has decided to sanction a one-time financial assistance of Rs. 50.25 lakh to the Old Agartala Block for further development of the Sanskriti Haat.

He also informed that discussions will be held with the District Magistrate of West Tripura to acquire additional land for expanding the cultural hub, ensuring that the Sanskriti Haat continues to grow with improved infrastructure and wider participation.

The Weekly Sanskriti Haat, which has completed 100 successful weeks, has emerged as a vibrant platform for artists, craftsmen, and performers to showcase local art, music, and handicrafts while fostering unity through culture.
