Health Department Clarifies Allegations of Question Paper Leak in Lab Technician Recruitment Exam, Terms Reports Baseless and False

 The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tripura, has issued an official clarification regarding certain media reports alleging irregularities and question paper leaks in the ongoing recruitment examinations for Lab Technician and other posts under the department.

The Health department, in its statement, has categorically termed the allegations as “fabricated, imaginary, and untrue.” It stated that the recruitment process is being conducted with full transparency and under strict procedural supervision.
According to the clarification, the recruitment advertisement for Laboratory Technician (Blood), Radiology and Imaging Technologist, and Optometrist posts was sent by the Director of Health Services to the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs on April 23, 2025, for publication. The advertisement appeared in newspapers on April 24, 2025, and was simultaneously uploaded on the department’s official website at www.healthtripura.gov.in.
The department received a total of 899 applications for Laboratory Technician (Blood), 431 applications for Radiology and Imaging Technologist, and 3,321 applications for Optometrist posts. The online application process was managed by the Directorate of Information Technology (DIT), which later shared the data with the Director of Health Services.
A scrutiny committee was formed to verify the applications for all posts. The responsibility for question paper preparation was entrusted to the Directorate of Medical Education and the authorities of Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and GBP Hospital.
To ensure security, all question papers, used and unused OMR sheets, and related examination materials were securely stored in Strong Room No. 2 of Agartala Treasury, under strict police surveillance. The question papers were transported from the treasury to the examination centers under police escort.
The Laboratory Technician (Blood) examination was held on October 25, 2025, at AGMC and GBP Hospital, as well as at RIPANS. On October 26, 2025, the Optometrist examination was conducted in the first half, followed by the Radiology and Imaging Technologist examination in the second half, both at RIPANS.
Prior to the written examinations, admit cards were made available for download from the official website on and after October 15, 2025. The department also published the detailed syllabus for each examination on the same portal.
In its statement, the Health and Family Welfare Department reaffirmed that the entire recruitment process is being carried out in a transparent and fair manner, strictly following official procedures. The department further stated that steps have already been initiated to publish the written examination results soon.
