The Tripura Legislative Assembly has been awarded a Certificate of Honour by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India, for the successful implementation of the National eVidhan Application (NeVA). The recognition was conferred during the 3rd National Conference on NeVA, held at Parliament House, New Delhi, in appreciation of Tripura’s significant progress in adopting digital and paperless legislative operations.

The award highlights Tripura’s achievement in embracing digital governance and transparent legislative practices, enabling online access to Assembly documents, communication, and record management. This move marks an important step towards the national goal of achieving a Digital Legislature, ensuring efficiency, accessibility, and environmental sustainability.

The certificate was presented by Shri Nikunja Bihari Dhal, Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, who appreciated Tripura’s efforts in advancing digital transformation within its legislative framework.

Additionally, Shri Atanu Ghosh, Head Assistant of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, received a Certificate of Participation for attending the conference, reaffirming the Assembly’s active engagement in the NeVA initiative and its commitment to continuous improvement in digital operations.

However, some components of the project are still pending. The digitization of old Assembly proceedings and regular updating of the Tripura Legislative Assembly’s official website are yet to be fully implemented as per the NeVA guidelines. Once completed, these will further strengthen Tripura’s position as one of the frontrunners in the country’s digital legislative movement.

The National eVidhan Application (NeVA), an initiative of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, aims to transform all State Legislatures into fully digital, paperless institutions, ensuring seamless coordination, transparency, and public accessibility across India’s legislative systems.
