MMD College, Sabroom holds: Awareness Program on HIV/AIDS

An "Intensive IEC Campaign" was organized at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium of Michael Madhusudhan Dutta (MMD) College, Sabroom under the initiative of the Voluntary Social Development Organization (VSDO), Harina, Sabroom and MMD College jointly. This campaign is associated with the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) of India. Such campaigns utilize Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) strategies to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and other health issues. The aim is to increase public knowledge, promote testing and treatment, dispel unnecessary fears, and encourage safe behaviors.
The event was presided over by the College Principal, Dr. Anupam Guha. Attendees included Nityananda Sarkar, SDPO, Sabroom, Dr. Soumik Hazar, Medical Officer, SOS Center, MDAH, Sabroom; Sanjib Chowdhury, Sukanta Chowdhury, and other colleagues from VSDO, along with D. Arup Patari, NSS Program Officer, professors and students. During the program, distinguished guests shared their real-life experiences regarding the current situation of drugs and HIV/AIDS
of Sabroom and the entire Northeastern region.
To motivate students, a dramatization related to HIV/AIDS was performed, highlighting the grave social issues. A quiz competition was also organized, and students were awarded for their participation. The organizers appealed to everyone to stay informed and proactive in raising awareness and taking initiatives against HIV/AIDS.
