Raising a big question mark over border security and vigilance along the actual fencing line of the Indo-Bangladesh border, the BSF jawans (154 battalion) caught six Bangladeshi infiltrators including a child from the Kanchanjunga express waiting for a short while at the Ambassa railway junction in Dhalai district yesterday. Giving details police sources said that acting on a tip-off a group of BSF jawans raided a carriage in the Kanchanjunga express and caught six Bangladeshi nationals.
Police sources from Ambassa said that the six Bangladeshi infiltrators had been indentified as Ahidul Haq (29), Ruma Begum (30), Mosafi Shemani (20), Jannatun Firdousi (10), Md Billal Sheikh (24) and Md Ruman Sheikh (2). In the course of initial interrogation the infiltrators told police personnel to whom they had been handed over by BSF authority that they had come from Comilla district of Bangladesh and had been heading for Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal to earn a living there as construction workers and masons. The admitted to have crossed the border with the help of an agent by paying money. The continuous infiltration from Bangladesh has become a matter of concern for people and authorities across the country but there is no let-up in the infiltration.
