Is There a Conspiracy Within BJP to Weaken the Chief Minister? Pratima Bhoumik’s Explosive Outburst Sparks Intra-Party Turmoil!

Tripura’s political landscape has once again been rocked by a storm, this time from within the ruling BJP itself. Former Union Minister and prominent BJP leader Pratima Bhoumik has publicly launched a scathing attack on senior administrative officials, sending shockwaves through the state’s political circles and exposing what many believe to be growing internal rifts within the BJP.

During a dramatic scene at Ambassa in Dhalai district, yesterday morning Pratima Bhoumik unleashed her fury in front of cameras, directly targeting the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Uttam Banik, TPS and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Ambassa, Rinku Reang, TCS.

In her fiery remarks, she declared, “There’s no such thing as law and order in this state anymore! If I were in charge, the police would have worked with dignity! Now, they have none!”

Her comments took a more explosive turn when she accused the SDM Ms. Rinku Reang of colluding with Tipra Motha supporters, alleging that he calls officers and arranges for them to be beaten.

Bhoumik’s statements have sparked widespread speculation that a powerful faction within the BJP is deliberately trying to undermine the current Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha. Political observers claim that the same group is secretly fueling unrest through Tipra Motha to destabilize the state’s administration and leadership.

Pratima Bhoumik’s anger did not stop there. Pointing at the police barricades placed in Ambassa, she questioned sarcastically, “Whose order is this? Who’s the one giving commands from above?” She then accused the police of selective action, asking, “Where were these barricades when Tipra Motha was picketing?”

In a moment that has now gone viral across social media, Bhoumik laughed upon seeing the police barricades and said, “I like this kind of fear!” adding provocatively, “The government is mine, but the barricades are against me!”

Adding to the controversy, BJP leader Ashok Sinha also voiced discontent in his facebook page yesterday, saying, “The heroes of the 2018 election are being sidelined. No one even mentions their names anymore. This is sheer thoughtlessness.”

Dr Ashok Sinha and Ms. Pratima Bhoumik's explosive remarks have triggered intense discussions within and outside the BJP. Several leaders and workers are reportedly unhappy, while others fear that the party’s internal conflict could soon erupt into a full-blown crisis.

Political analysts say this public outburst signifies more than personal frustration, it’s a sign of deep divisions and growing dissatisfaction within the Tripura BJP, particularly among leaders who feel sidelined or ignored after years of loyalty and struggle.

As the controversy grows, the spotlight is now firmly on the BJP’s internal unity and on whether this public rebellion could mark the beginning of a larger political realignment in Tripura.

Tripura’s politics is once again in turmoil, this time, not from the opposition, but from within the ruling party itself.
