Tension continues to simmer across Tripura following the violent incidents reported during the recent Statewide Bandh. TIPRA Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma yesterday visited GB Pant Hospital, Agartala, to meet those injured in the Kamalpur incident.

During his visit, MLA Ranjit Debbarma personally enquired about the health condition of the injured persons, interacted with the doctors and medical staff, and wished the victims a speedy recovery.

The situation remains politically charged as both ruling and opposition voices exchange sharp reactions over the violence that erupted under the banner of the Civil Society of Tripura.

According to ruling party leaders, the recent unrest followed a pattern similar to a previous attack in Takarchhara, where alleged miscreants sheltered by TIPRA Motha had reportedly targeted BJP’s tribal supporters. They claimed that once again, under the guise of a peaceful movement, so-called civil society activists and armed miscreants unleashed violence against administrative officials, traders, and common citizens.

Reacting to the incident, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha reiterated that the state administration would not tolerate violence in the name of any movement. A senior leader stated that, The background of the leadership behind this so-called civil society movement is well known to everyone. The government will not allow armed activities in the name of

agitation. Whatever action is required will be taken strictly.

The Chief Minister has reportedly directed law enforcement agencies to identify and take firm action against those responsible for the attacks.

Meanwhile, political observers note that the Kamalpur violence and subsequent hospital visit by MLA Ranjit Debbarma have further deepened the ongoing political tension between the BJP and TIPRA Motha, especially in the tribal and hill areas of the state.
