The chief minister Dr Manik Saha today paid a visit to the GBP hospital to see the condition of a number of patients who had sustained injuries in unprovoked attacks by the miscreants aligned with the ‘Motha’ yesterday in Kamalpur subdivision. Among the patients brought to GBP hospital is the shop-keeper Subrata Paul who had been attacked yesterday while trying to close down his shop that he had opened in the absence of picketing. Subrata sustained a serious injury in the eye and can not see anything because of temporarily impaired vision.

During his visit to the hospital , accompanied by the BJP state president Rajeev Bhattacharjee, the chief minister spoke to the patients and tried to gauge their condition . He also spoke to the doctors treating the patients in the hospital and asked them to spare no pains in curing the patients . While speaking to media persons on the issue the chief minister condemned the incidents of attacks on and harassment of people by the ‘Tipra Motha’ miscreants without naming the party. “I strongly condemn the acts of goonery committed yesterday ; this is a conscious attempt to weaken the democratic ambience in the state and those who are indulging in such acts will have no place in state politics in the future; the government respects democratic rights of all parties but these wanton attacks on common people and their properties can not be tolerated ; we will take action” said the chief minister Dr Manik Saha.
