Ratan Lal Nath visits home of youth dead by electrocution, promises assistance to family and investigation into the accident

The veteran minister for power Ratan Lal Nath today met the parents and family members of Ajay Debnath (22) who died by electrocution in Manipuri basti area in west Ghilatoli panchayat under Kalyanpur police station . In a tragic mishap Ajay Debnath , a driver by profession, yesterday got electrocuted near his home in Manipuri basti and died on the spot and the incident cast a deep shadow of grief and mourning in the entire west Ghilatoli panchayat .
After being informed of the mishap and resultant death, Ratan Lal Nath, accompanied by local MLA Pinaki Daschowdhury, Kalyanpur panchayat samity chairman Somen Gope, Kalyanpur ‘Mandal’ president Nitai Bol and officials of the TSECL, this morning reached the home of Ajay Debnath and comforted the parents and family members of Ajay Debnath. The minister assured the family that extending financial assistance to the bereaved family will be considered and the government will stand by them.
Having spoken to the family Ratan Lal visited the spot where Ajay Debnath had been electrocuted and saw how the power transmission lines had been lying in disorder. He said that there was a time when power supply was irregular and limited but now things have improved and consumer base has grown sharply. “We are trying to provide orderly and safe power service with the co-operation of people but I am assuring you that the death of Ajay Debnath will be investigated by the department and if anyone is found guilty he will be punished through legal means” said Ratan Lal before departing.
