Former Tripura DGP K Selim Ali Recalls Peaceful Legacy of Tripura Police Since 2011 on Police Commemoration Day

Former Director General of Police (DGP) of Tripura, K Selim Ali, has described Tripura as a peaceful state since 2011, recalling his tenure as one of transformation and sacrifice. Speaking during the Police Commemoration Day celebration in Tamil Nadu, Ali said, “I always cherish the moment and memory as the DGP who handed over a peaceful Tripura in 2011 to my successor.”
Reflecting on the solemn occasion, he said, “21st October is our Police Commemoration Day. Thanks to Tamil Nadu Police for giving me an opportunity to participate in their commemoration parade and pay my respects.”
Ali reminisced about his years of service in Tripura, stating, “On this day, I always remember the sacrifices made by Tripura Police. At every stage of my career, I witnessed many brave personnel from Tripura Police, Tripura State Rifles, CRPF, and BSF laying down their lives for a better Tripura.”
He added that his thoughts remain with the families of those who lost their lives in the line of duty, especially officers who served closely under his leadership. “I hope people of Tripura always remember the brave police personnel who laid down their lives for a better Tripura. Their sacrifices made Tripura the most peaceful state today,” he said with emotion.
Meanwhile, in Tripura, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha, and DGP Anurag Dhankhar attended the Police Commemoration Day ceremony held at the AD Nagar Maanoranjan Debbarma Memorial Stadium.
During the event, the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, and DGP paid floral tributes to the brave police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. Dr. Saha remarked that their supreme sacrifice and unwavering dedication reflect the true spirit of heroism and duty towards the nation.
