In a remarkable success under the ongoing anti-narcotics drive, Teliamura Subdivision police achieved two major breakthroughs in separate operations, recovering cannabis worth around Rs. 8 lakh and seizing more than 3,500 bottles of contraband cough syrup from the Hadrai area.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a targeted raid in the Hadrai locality and seized approximately 3,500 bottles of Phensedyl and Eskuf syrup, valued at over Rs. 10 lakh in the illicit market. The operation was led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Rohan Krishan, assisted by Officer-in-Charge Jayanta Kumar Dey and personnel from the 6th Battalion TSR (Tripura State Rifles).

Speaking about the successful raid, SDPO Rohan Krishan said “The operation was successful, but the investigation is still underway. We are working to identify and apprehend the main network behind this narcotics trafficking.”

Meanwhile, in another operation, Mungiakami Police Station under Teliamura Subdivision intercepted a passenger vehicle on National Highway 41 Mile and recovered cannabis worth approximately Rs. 8 lakh. The contraband was being transported discreetly, and further investigation is in progress to trace the source and destination of the illegal consignment.

These consecutive operations have drawn widespread praise from the local community, highlighting the proactive and strict stance of Teliamura police against drug trafficking. The swift action has instilled confidence among residents, though some locals have expressed concern that a much larger stock of narcotics might still be hidden in nearby areas, calling for continued vigilance and follow-up searches by the authorities.
