A major political storm has engulfed Tripura after digital creator Nibedita Chakraborty went live on Facebook, accusing Minister Sudhanshu Das of massive corruption and presenting what she claims are on-camera evidences of his unethical practices.During her live broadcast on Saturday, Nibedita made a bold demand for the immediate resignation of the minister, warning that if he refuses to step down, she will release even more incriminating evidence before the court to expose what she describes as deep-rooted corruption at the ministerial level.
According to her claims, the released video clips allegedly show Minister Sudhanshu Das admitting on camera that his brother, a contractor, enjoys extra benefits because of his ministerial position, something he reportedly justified as normal practice. In another segment, the minister purportedly stated that political leaders often collect source money from contractors, suggesting that such funds are used for serving the people.Nibedita described these statements as an open confession of corruption, asserting that no morally responsible leader would continue to hold office after such remarks. “If the minister has even a minimum sense of ethics, he should resign immediately,” she declared.
The digital creator, who runs the platform ‘Rashtriya Samachar’, insisted that her revelations are supported by real-time video recordings, documents, and eyewitness accounts. She emphasized that her campaign is not politically motivated but driven purely by a sense of public duty to expose corruption and ensure accountability in governance.
Following the viral spread of her expose, Nibedita alleged that she has been receiving multiple threats from the minister’s supporters. Despite these threats, she reaffirmed her commitment to the truth, stating, “No amount of intimidation will silence me. I am ready to take legal action against those who are trying to suppress my voice.”
Sources close to her indicated that more documents and recordings are likely to be produced before the court soon, particularly if Minister Das proceeds with his planned legal action against Nibedita. The controversy has sparked widespread outrage across Tripura, with political observers and citizens demanding a transparent and independent investigation into the allegations.
All eyes are now on October 26, when Minister Sudhanshu Das is expected to file a case against Nibedita Chakraborty, while CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury is reportedly planning legal counteraction on related grounds. Many are dubbing the episode Nibedita Chakraborty vs. Sudhanshu Das: The Truth Battle, as the state braces for an unprecedented political showdown.
Meanwhile, social media has erupted in support of Nibedita’s courage. One viral post reads:
> “Nibedita Chakraborty has spoken the truth fearlessly. A minister who has taken an oath to uphold the Constitution must reflect transparency and responsibility in both words and actions. Saying one thing before the camera and another behind it is a betrayal of democratic spirit. Courageous journalists and digital creators like her are reviving the essence of fearless journalism that mainstream media often hesitates to pursue. People are turning to social platforms because they want honesty. The time has come for the revival of truthful and fearless journalism.”
As Tripura watches closely, the burning question remains:
Will Minister Sudhanshu Das step down amid mounting evidence, or will the battle for truth intensify with fresh revelations in the days to come?
