The tribal welfare minister Bikash Debbarma and minister for co-operatives Shukla Charan Noatia met the media persons in the state secretariat today to announce that Tripura has won top positions and captured first prizes in the country for excellent implementation of the two national schemes known as ‘Dharti Abha Jana Bhagidari Abhiyan’ and ‘PM Janman Prakalpa’. Among all the states and union territories in the country Tripura was the top prize and position winner.
Speaking to media ministers Bikash Debbarma and Shukla Charan Noatia said that the prizes were given away by the president Draupadi Murmu in a function held in the Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi yesterday . The programme was attended by the union minister for tribal welfare Joel Orang, minister of state Durgadas Wike and senior officials and many other VIPs. For the government of Tripura prizes were received by the secretary of the tribal welfare department Dr K.Shashi Kumar. The entire function was organised by the union ministry of tribal welfare as part of the ‘Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan’ of the central government, keeping in view the prime minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Vikshit Bharat-2047’.
Regarding the ‘Dharti Abha Janabhagidari Abhiyan’ in Tripura the ministers said that the scheme had been launched by the union tribal welfare ministry from June 15 this year for empowerment of tribal masses across the country. “It is because of higher awareness of tribal problem that the scheme has been best implemented in Tripura by involving the indigenous people; altogether 4036 camps have been successfully held and tribal people benefited from this” said Bikash and Shuklacharan. Tripura won the first prize in the country for implementation of this scheme.
The ministers said that the list of achievements in implementation of the ‘PM Janman’ scheme is more remarkable as evident from statistical data. “Already 15,584 houses have been built under the scheme while 1632 more houses are under construction, 141 new Anganwadi centres have been set up and 38014 families have been given water connections” said Bikash and Shuklacharan.
