The Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress (TPYC) has demanded wirthdrawal of health department’s notification for competitive exam for recruitment on October 25 and 26 issued by the health department and issuance of fresh notification on grounds of anticipated corrupt practices. In a letter addressed to the director of health services the TPYC president Neel Kamal Saha has pointed out that as per the new recruitment policy notified by the incumbent BJP government in 2018 the publication of syllabus for the recruitment exam along with the advertisement and taking such exams on Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets had been made compulsory.

But while taking the recruitment exam in the year 2024 as per advertisement or notification issued by the health department in the year 2021 this declared or notified policy was grossly violated because no syllabus had been published along with the advertisement and the exam was taken on plain white paper in stead of OMR sheet . This resulted in gross irregularities , forgery and corruption and many competent and eligible candidates were deprived, said Neel Kamal Saha.

He referred to a recent notification/ advertisement issued by the health department for recruitment to 85 different and important posts and till May 17 more than 18 thousand candidates have filed applications. The recruitment exams are scheduled to come off on October 25 and 26 in which largescale corruption is likely to happen. Keeping what happened earlier in view Neel Kamal Saha has demnded that the latest advertisement or notification be cancelled and new notification be issued along with syllabus . In addition , Neelkamal demanded, arrangement should be made to take the recruitment exam on OMR sheet to prevent malpractices, corruption and forgery in the recruitment exam. He has also threatened that in case of any malpractice and corruption the TPYC will launch an agitation against the state government.
