Preparations Underway for Diwali at Tripureswari Temple

With the festival of Diwali approaching, preparations are in full swing at the Tripureswari Temple. The district administration has taken comprehensive steps to ensure the smooth organization of one of Tripura’s most popular festivals. This year marks a special occasion, as it is the first Diwali after the inauguration of the newly constructed temple under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) scheme.

While preparations are progressing, some pilgrims have raised concerns regarding the temple’s existing layout. They have reported difficulties in standing in queues due to exposure to heat and sunlight, and have requested shelters to ease their worship of Goddess Tripureswari.

Decorators, following the directions of the competent authorities, are working diligently to ensure the festival arrangements are attractive and well-organized. Sweet shops in the area are busy preparing Pera, a traditional sweet that has recently received a Geographical Indication (GI) tag under the financial support of NABARD Tripura R.O.

Connectivity is not expected to be an issue, as railway services are fully operational, allowing pilgrims from across India and Bangladesh to attend the celebrations. Various line departments are actively participating to ensure the festival is conducted successfully, while the Matabari BDO’s office is coordinating multiple activities to uphold the festive spirit.

The district administration has assured that all measures are being taken to make this Diwali at Tripureswari Temple safe, comfortable, and memorable for devotees.
