Tripura Chief Minister Meets Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Seeks Support for Major Developmental Initiatives Toward 'Viksit Tripura, Viksit Bharat'

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha met Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi today and discussed a range of developmental issues aimed at accelerating the state’s growth under the vision of ‘Viksit Tripura, Viksit Bharat’.
During the meeting, Dr. Saha expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his constant guidance and support in Tripura’s progress and apprised him of the state’s ongoing developmental initiatives. He sought the Prime Minister’s kind support on several key matters crucial for the socio-economic upliftment of the state, including:
Inclusion of the Bru-Reang community under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) scheme to ensure food security and welfare for the resettled community.
Increase in the allocation of wheat under the Public Distribution System (PDS) to strengthen food availability in the state. Double-laning of the railway track in Tripura to improve rail connectivity and promote economic integration with the rest of the Northeast. Commencement of a Vande Bharat Express train service between Agartala and Guwahati, enhancing fast and modern connectivity across the region.
Enhancement of the ceiling limit for Externally Aided Projects (EAPs) to attract more investment and funding for major infrastructure projects.
Increase in the number of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) by 15 to boost educational opportunities for tribal students. Establishment of an Agar Board and research centre in Tripura to promote the state’s unique agarwood industry and boost rural livelihoods. Sustainable development of the Unakoti heritage site, focusing on preservation, tourism promotion, and cultural enrichment.
Dr. Saha reaffirmed that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of Tripura remains steadfast in its mission to ensure inclusive growth, connectivity, and prosperity for all citizens.
He concluded by stating that the combined efforts of both the Central and State Governments will play a pivotal role in transforming Tripura into a truly Viksit Rajya in the coming years.
