Tripura Chief Minister Meets Union Health Minister JP Nadda in New Delhi, Discusses Major Healthcare Projects

In a significant move aimed at strengthening Tripura’s healthcare infrastructure, Chief Minister met the Union Health Minister and National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shri JP Nadda, in New Delhi today.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister held a detailed discussion on several key healthcare initiatives for the state. Among the major proposals placed before the Union Health Minister were: Setting up a new Medical College at Kulai, Dhalai District, an Aspirational District, on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis to enhance access to medical education and healthcare in the region.

Establishment of a Tertiary Ophthalmology Hospital at Agartala to provide advanced eye care and specialized treatment facilities within the state.

Setting up an Immunology Laboratory for Organ Transplant Services at the Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and GBP Hospital, marking a major step towards strengthening organ transplant-related medical research and patient care.

A request for financial assistance for procuring advanced medical instruments at the Super Speciality Block, AGMC, ensuring state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facilities for patients.

A proposal for additional funds under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PMJAY) to settle pending claims and ensure seamless service delivery to beneficiaries.

The meeting reflects the state government’s strong commitment to improving healthcare access and infrastructure across Tripura, especially in underserved areas. Shri JP Nadda appreciated the Chief Minister’s initiatives and assured positive consideration of the proposals.
