MoU to be Signed Between GB Pant Hospital and AIIMS Delhi in Presence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha: Says Health Secretary Kiran Gitte

Health Secretary Kiran Gitte today announced that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between Gobinda Ballabh Pant (GB Pant) Hospital, Agartala, and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha todsy in new Delhi. The MoU aims to strengthen and accelerate the developmental and collaborative healthcare initiatives between the two premier medical institutions.

Speaking on the occasion of GB Pant Hospital’s 65th Foundation Day, Gitte highlighted the significant role of the hospital in delivering quality healthcare services to the people of Tripura. He said that GB Pant Hospital has emerged as a trusted and dependable center for patients across the state, symbolizing hope and assurance in public health.

He further stated that the Government of Tripura is continuously undertaking several initiatives to modernize the hospital’s infrastructure, improve medical facilities, and enhance patient care services. According to him, the upcoming collaboration with AIIMS Delhi will mark a major milestone in the state’s healthcare advancement, ensuring better access to specialized medical expertise, training, and technological support.

The announcement underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to making GB Pant Hospital a model healthcare institution in the region and a center of excellence for medical services in Tripura.

Notably, the 65th Foundation Day of Gobinda Ballabh Pant (GB Pant) Hospital was celebrated today with a special programme held at the Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) auditorium.

The event was graced by MLA and Chairperson of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti, Mina Rani Sarkar, as the chief guest. Other dignitaries present included Director of Medical Education Dr. H. P. Sharma, Principal of AGMC Prof. Dr. Anup Kumar Saha, Member Secretary of the National Health Mission Dr. Nupur Debbarma, Member Secretary of the State Blood Transfusion Council Dr. Biswajit Debbarma, and Deputy Superintendent of GB Pant Hospital Dr. Kanak Choudhury.

In her address, MLA Mina Rani Sarkar recalled that GB Pant Hospital was established on this day in 1961 and has been steadily progressing ever since. She expressed confidence that with the collective efforts of all stakeholders, the hospital will continue to grow and uphold its reputation as one of the leading healthcare institutions in Tripura.

To mark the Foundation Day, a blood donation camp was organized, and fruits and sweets were distributed among patients. The celebration reflected the hospital’s commitment to public health and community service.
