Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha and Former CM Manik Sarkar expressed profound grief over the passing away of the state’s renowned dance guru, Smt. Padmini Chakraborty. In a condolence message, the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said he was deeply saddened to hear about her demise and paid heartfelt tribute to her memory.

Dr. Saha stated that Padmini Chakraborty’s dedication, creative talent, and invaluable contribution to the cultural sphere of Tripura would always be remembered with respect and admiration. He prayed for eternal peace to her departed soul and conveyed his deepest sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Padmini Chakraborty, widely regarded as one of Tripura’s foremost and most respected classical dancers and teachers, had served as a lecturer at a government music college and played a crucial role in nurturing generations of talented dancers across the state. Her pioneering efforts in preserving and promoting Tripura’s dance traditions have earned her a permanent place in the state’s rich cultural heritage.

Dr. Saha mentioned that her artistic excellence and long-standing contribution have brought honor and recognition to Tripura both within and outside the state. He further noted that her devotion to the art form and commitment to training young talents have significantly strengthened the foundation of classical dance in Tripura.

In a condolences, the Former Chief Minister stated Manik Sarkar said, “Her creativity, discipline, and lifelong dedication to the field of performing arts will continue to inspire the cultural community of Tripura. Her memory will remain immortal in the hearts of all who cherish the arts.”
