Tripura to Join Nationwide ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’ Celebrating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

In a historic move to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, through the ‘MY Bharat’ initiative, has launched the ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’, a national campaign symbolizing unity, integrity, and civic responsibility across the country.
The objective of this initiative is to spread awareness about Sardar Patel’s immense contribution to the nation, promote the spirit of unity, and encourage youth participation in community development. The campaign also aims to strengthen the vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Atmanirbhar Bharat’ by invoking Patel’s ideals of national integration.
As part of this initiative, a district-level Unity March will be organized across all districts of Tripura from 3 October to 25 November 2025, followed by a National Unity March from 26 November to 6 December 2025, starting from Sardar Patel’s birthplace at Karamsad to Kevadiya, the site of the iconic Statue of Unity, covering a 150 km distance.
District-Level March Routes in Tripura:
Unakoti District: Kailashahar to Unakoti Heritage
Dhalai District: Ambassa to Kulai
Khowai District: Khowai to Chebri
West District: Ujjayanta to DDSSC, Badharghat
Gomati District: District Sports Complex to Matarbari
South District: Belonia College to Bharat Chandra Nagar Block
Sepahijala District: Rastarmatha to Charilam
North District: Dharmanagar Degree College to DM Office
As per feasibility, routes may be adjusted based on ground realities.
District-Level Core Committee:
Each district will form a Core Committee chaired by the Sabhadhipati of the Zilla Parishad. Other key members include all MLAs of the concerned district, DM & Collector (Member Secretary), SP, Panchayat and Municipal Chairpersons, DFO, DEO, DYO, District YAS Officers, representatives of NSS and MY Bharat, and other nominated members.
In Tripura, the campaign will include awareness drives, essay competitions, seminars, street plays, and exhibitions on Sardar Patel’s life and contributions. College and school students will take the ‘Drug-Free India’ pledge, along with Unity and Civic Responsibility pledges. Health camps and cleanliness drives will also be organized along the routes.
National-Level March (26 November – 6 December 2025):
The national-level march will begin at Karamsad (Sardar Patel’s birthplace) and culminate at the Statue of Unity, spanning 150 km. Participants will engage in community development activities and cultural programs at various villages along the route.
A special exhibition on Sardar Patel’s life and vision for a united India will also be held, showcasing his leadership, contribution to integration, and relevance in modern India.
The ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’ thus seeks to unite citizens under the ideals of unity, responsibility, and nation-building, celebrating the legacy of the ‘Iron Man of India’ through youth-driven participation and patriotic fervor.
