BJP worker house-wife assaulted by unruly booth president in front of daughter in Sonamura, complaint filed but no arrest so far

The depredations of BJP workers and officer bearers at the grassroot level is crossing all limits as the local level leaders are now turning on party’s own workers and supporters. In a disgraceful incident a booth level president of the party physically assaulted a woman worker of the party in front of her teenaged daughter in full public view. The assaulted lady has filed a complaint with the police in Sonamura subdivisional town but no action has so far been taken against the thuggish booth president.

The shameful incident happened in Purba Durlavnarayan area under Sonamura police station . Sources said that Manika Sarkar Nama (32), wife of local BJP worker Asim Nama, had gone to take ‘Prasadam’ of a ‘Puja’ held in the Purba Durlavnarayan market area with her daughter Ankita Sarkar Nama (11). After taking ‘Prasadam’ Manika was on her way out of the place of ‘Puja’ with her daughter but the unruly local BJP worker, and president of booth no-12 Subhas Chandra Nama picked up a quarrel with her deliberately by passing snide remarks and , as Manika protested, unruly Subhas Chandra Nama physically assaulted her and slapped her repeatedly in front of her own daughter and many other people present in the market area.

The local people intervened in the matter immediately and took Subhas Chandra Nama away but Manika Das Nama declared openly that she would not take this lying down. Later Manika Das Nama and her husband Asim Nama reached the Sonamura police station and filed a formal complaint against miscreant Subhas Chandra Nama . But the police in Sonamura is yet to arrest or take any other action against Subhas Chandra Nama.
